    Individual Therapy

    Initial Session:

    Your initial session will be dedicated towards learning more about you, your background, and your history. This also includes your current concerns and goals for online therapy. Your therapist will also create a treatment plan. This will have clear objectives and goals to track progress throughout counseling. This is where your therapist will take the time to get to know you and what you want out of therapy. Your therapists’ main goal is to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible.

    Subsequent Sessions:

    These sessions are where the real work begins! Your therapist will work with you on some deep-rooted issues and the therapeutic goals you both set up during the first session. Working with an online therapist should be fun! So, at times you and your therapist will laugh and you may also cry (it’s ok we’ve got the Kleenex ready), but these breakthrough moments are when you will grow and discover new strengths you probably didn’t realize you had! Once you start to make the changes and adjustments we discuss into your daily/weekly routine you may start to see and experience a healthier, happier you. Over time, you will gain more self-awareness and self confidence while achieving your goals.

    Termination:

    This will be a collaborative process. This means that your therapist will take your considerations and concerns into account. Termination is also known as the ending stage of therapy. The guideline that your therapist will use to know when you are at this stage is based on you completing your therapy goals. Remember that your therapist will conduct periodic assessments to see your improvements and growth areas.

    Couples Therapy With Dr. Vanessa

    Initial Session:

    Your initial couples session is dedicated to learning more about you as a couple and as individuals. We will explore the background and history of your relationship. Plus, we will discuss your current relational concerns and goals for therapy. We will also create a treatment plan with clear objectives and goals based on your desired outcomes. Throughout counseling, we will use the established plan to track progression. We will do this until the completion of counseling.

    Subsequent sessions:

    These sessions are dedicated to working towards your counseling goals as a couple. We will have the difficult conversations you may have been avoiding. This will help us begin the healing and forgiveness process and move forward. The therapist will never work with one individual without the other present. You and your partner will receive the necessary tools to increase communication, listening, problem-solving, and much more. Throughout counseling, we will use the established treatment plan to track progression. We will continue this until the completion of counseling.

    Termination:

    This will be a collaborative process. This means that your therapist will take both of your concerns into account and we all work together. Termination is known as the ending stage of online therapy. The guideline that we use to know when you and your partner are in this stage is based on you both completing your therapy goals. This also includes an increase in healthy communication, listening, and trust within your relationship.
